Photos

Ellie just called down for food – but this is just a note to say check out the photos. I found some old ones of our holiday in Crete on a CD so there’s lots to see.

Almost weekly

Updates for this week.

The pension / start date problem with my new job is still ongoing. My new employers seem to have difficulty being near a phone when I call so I’ve had to resort to leaving messages and hoping they get back to me. In the meantime I’ve decided to see if there are any even better jobs in the area.

Plus current work have said there are probably areas there I can move to to get work that might suit me better. I’m not entirely convinced about that – but I’m not entirely convinced about new job either so we shall see what comes of that.

Matt’s got a blog too – so you can read up on his nonsense. Which is more nonsensical than mine – but less blue.

We’re planning on a trip to Nottingham for easter – I have a feeling I’m about to be drowned in wedding plans in the near future. Thats all from me for now… s’talk later.

Last week

So – what happened last week then you might be saying? No posts for a whole 7 days! Not exacty shocking, but there were good reasons all round.

On Monday I decided to leave my job and accept the nice new one I’ve been offered elsewhere.
On Tuesday I discovered (after sending off the acceptance letter) that I’d probably be £4,000 short on my pension if I did that.
On Wednesday I woke up to discover we’d been robbed. Amongst other things they’d taken my PSP and GameCube, and more importantly Ellie’s watch and Engagement ring.
On Thursday I confirmed the pension problem mentioned on Tuesday – but on the bright side the replacement for Ellie’s phone which had been stolen arrived. (Pretty damn efficient there for the insurance company.)
On Friday I asked about postponing my starting my new job. (Yet to find out about that) until I could get the extra £4,000 for my pension.
On saturday we had a long list of things to do, and we actually did them ALL!!! Plus we went down to Devon to see my family.
On sunday we saw one of my aunts and three of my cousins – along with a fleet of children (do they come in fleets? perhaps a platoon as they’re all boys) which belong to them.

Quite a week really, so I didn’t really have time or inclination to post anything. Anyway, now I’m tired and back at work – I really could do with another couple of weekends between now and Friday.

They can’t make me!

Ha ha! I’m at work, and I can still fill my time doing useless pointless things. You can’t force me to be productive – I can perform tasks that merely look productive. For example, to a casual observer I could be asking a question on a useful website to help with work – or I could scroll things around a little and I’d look like I was writing a document. No one would know that I’m actually posting senseless rubbish on my blog.

Mwa ha ha

(Oh wait, it’s the lunch hour.)

Holidays are over

But they went well. Ellie and I just got back from Cuba yesterday – having had a wonderful time. Romantic me proposed on the roof terrace of our hotel on the second night, and the rest of the holiday went quite well.

Cuba’s unlike anywhere else I’ve been, image Venice, without the water – but set in the tropics. Then make it a communist country, and then add quite a few hustlers and a load of friendly people (In fact, the friendly people were often mistaken for hustlers, and vice-versa). They’re extremely hero-worshippy folks, and they’re fairly obsessed with Jose Marti, Ernesto (Che) Guavara comes in second.

I’m sure I’ll give everyone full details of what we got up to individually, but I’m going to post the pictures up here. Suffice to say we had a lot of fun, it’s an amazing place but it can be a little intimidating.
